Door County Wisconsin

Door County is in the upper part of the peninsula that is east of Green Bay.  Surrounded by water, the county's 300 miles of shoreline comprise nearly 20% of Lake Michigan's 1,600 miles of shoreline.  We enjoyed several hours in Door County but did not see the entire place.  It was beautiful and worth a return trip.

Fish Creek is one of the popular communities

Ephraim proudly exhibits a blend of Norwegian and Moravian heritage.  It offers the most accessible shoreline of any of the Door County communities.

 Sturgeon Bay
This historic community is located on the bay of Green Bay which flows directly into Lake Michigan through a large shipping canal.

Holiday Music Motel
We enjoyed staying at this retro 50's motel. It's actually one of Door County's top ranked places to stay.  During annual song writing festivals hundreds of songs are collaboratively written and recorded onsite.
